Nicole Kear gives a great account of adjusting to vision loss from the standpoint of slow loss over many years.  She has RP (Retinitis Pigmentosa) and lives in a small apartment with her husband and young children. Her final summing up of how to live with vision loss is particularly good. She loved her vision rehab teacher too…

The greatest gift that Ms. Quinones gave me, though, was the permission to do what I needed to, even if it wasn’t commonplace or obvious or aesthetically pleasing, to be comfortable in my apartment — to feel at home, at home, again.
